POSITION PURPOSE: The full-time Machine Tool Technology Instructor assists the Program Director in the development of programmatic initiatives and curriculum. The instructor teaches specific machine tool technology courses, as assigned by the Program Director.DUTIES: The full-time machine tool technology instructor will be responsible for teaching multiple theory classes and hands-on labs, so that students gain the knowledge and skills needed in cutting, shaping, forming and fabricating metal items using machine tools, and advanced manufacturing, etc.Essential duties include, but are not limited to:· Demonstrate machine tool technology expertise in a fully equipped facility.· Teach general and specific shop (laboratory) and theory classes and those associated with the advanced manufacturing track, such as CNC, EDM, etc.· Prepare students for a career in machining.· Supervise student involvement in on-campus work assignments and school projects, while assisting students with classroom assignments and skill development to encourage successful attainment of program standards.· Regularly and consistently monitor and record student aptitude and performance in classroom and/or shop/lab settings by means of standard instruments of evaluation, while also supporting student success.· Create a focused, engaged, and equitable learning environment by being highly motivated and engaging the students in the learning process, while also meeting students where they are skill and competency-wise and teaching through experiential and meaningful projects.· Serve as a role model for students and embrace/demonstrate the school’s core values.· Comply with the school’s academic policies related to grading, academic probation, course failure, and course failure remediation.· Effectively update and manage course information and student performance within the college’s learning management system and/or student information management system.· Assist in planning and coordinating the logistics for program functions, including: instruction equipment and supplies, field trips, off-campus appointments, student internship programs, community service projects, and special presentations to the students.· Be positive, energetic, dependable and have the ability to collaborate and communicate with integrity.· Encourage and enforce student compliance with Williamson’s Conduct Code.· Assist students in adjusting to established disciplinary standards and in internalizing the vital moral, ethical, and spiritual values of the School, with special emphasis on developing a strong work ethic.· Assist in overseeing compliance with applicable safety standards, OSHA regulations, accident prevention rules and procedures, and hazardous materials handling requirements in the shop and on all school-related projects.· Participate in professional development activities, as outlined in the Faculty Professional Development Plan.· Attend and participate in scheduled in-service training sessions.· Follow all school policies and procedures as described in the Employee Handbook.· Maintain effective communication and close cooperation with the Program Director, Vice President of Academic Affairs and other faculty/staff to effectively attain the overall educational objectives of the program.· Perform other duties, as occasionally assigned by the Program Director, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Provost and/or the President.QUALIFICATIONS:· Must have a minimum of three years of experience in the machining trade, with a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, including but not limited to cutting, shaping, forming, and fabricating materials and use of hand tools, measuring instruments, testing equipment, and basic and automatic machine tools.· Have at least 1 specialty area under the umbrella of advanced manufacturing, such as: CNC, EDM, etc.· Must be able to show a command of relevant theory and practice, contemporary knowledge, and best practices in the machining field.· Have teaching experience at the secondary and/or post-secondary level (preferred but not required).· Have an OSHA 30 certification (preferred not required).COMPENSATION: Based on educational qualifications and applicable industry and teaching experience, the annual salary for the non-tenured, ten-month appointment is in the competitive range and includes an excellent benefits package.STARTING DATE: ImmediateWORK Williamson College of the Trades is an endowed, gift supported three-year, independent,ENVIRONMENT: post-secondary, vocational-technical college for economically qualified young men.The College, founded over 130 years ago, is a community of 320 students and 80 part-time/full-time instructors, administrators, and support staff operating on a beautiful 220-acre campus near Media, PA.Williamson is dedicated to teaching trade and technical skills, related general education, and moral and ethical values from a Christian perspective. Purpose of Position The University of Texas at El Paso College of Education Teacher Education Department is thrilled to announce a cluster hire of three full-time Postdoctoral Scholar positions. Each appointment is for up to two years, and renews after the first year based on funding availability and scholar performance. Each scholar will have the opportunity to work on projects that aim to advance knowledge, practice, and policy at the intersection of K-12 computer science education and research practice partnerships that serve minoritized communities. The overarching goal of the appointment is to strengthen capacity (i.e., knowledge, skills, practices, literacies) among recent education doctoral graduates whose scholarship engages with Computer Science (CS) and other STEM disciplines among learner groups traditionally marginalized in STEM + C fields (e.g., predominantly Hispanic-serving K-12 environments). Scholars will participate in a co-generative mentorship model that will involve participation in existing K-12 social science research projects—with the goal of additionally developing and implementing independent research programs in related fields within their time as post-doctoral researchers. Scholars will be co-mentored by project investigators (i.e., PI/Co-PIs/Senior Personnel) who will provide apprenticeship in: designing and enacting research projects, competitively pursuing extramural funding to support research, and mentoring students. Essential Functions Scholars will collaborate with faculty investigators to carry out such responsibilities to include, but not limited to, the following: Developing and implementing lines of inquiry aligned with the scholar's interests, expertise, and social science research goals in one or more areas: K-12 computer science student learning, teaching practice, or policy; Writing/Amending IRB applications and obtaining IRB approvals; Collecting/Analyzing/Managing one or multiple education-related data sources; Collaborating with and Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; Publishing and presenting research findings in competitive peer-reviewed venues; Writing grant funding proposals to seek extramural support; Engaging in participatory approaches to research, practice and policy development and implementation; Coordinating and working with diverse community stakeholders (i.e., district-, school- and community-based within existing Paso del Norte region Partnership for Education Research); Assisting with project management. Required Qualifications Successful candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Learning Sciences, Computer Science, Data Science, Education Policy, Curriculum Theory, or related fields by the effective appointment date. Will ensure that the curriculum meets the emotional, physical, cognitive, and social needs of both the individual child and the group. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE <ul><li>Develop age appropriate curriculum and lesson plans for the purpose or presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts relative to the children’s needs.</li><li>Plan, prepare and implement daily activities, both indoor and outdoor, as they relate to the curriculum (e.g. games, art, music, science, language, nutrition, playground, washing hands, etc.).</li><li>Interact daily with the children, providing a positive environment and encouraging their involvement in activities.</li><li>Model positive and effective adult/child behaviors (e.g. classroom, with parents, etc.) in all activities, contributing to the emotional, intellectual and social development of children and improving the quality of outcomes.</li><li>Remain knowledgeable about each child’s medical and developmental history; maintain ongoing progress and developmental records.</li><li>Assist in preparation of nutritional snacks and lunches that comply with established KDHE guidelines and meet the nutritional needs of the children.</li><li>Conduct daily health checks and visually monitor individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g. snack and lunch time, group or individual games, playground activities, quiet time, field trips, classroom, play time, etc.), ensuring that environment is clean, safe and free of hazards.</li><li>Interact and communicate cooperatively and effectively with staff members, teachers, parents, and students. Maintain good communication with parents on a daily basis through the use of daily notes as well as face-to-face interaction.</li><li>Report any observances of problems with children to Director of Early Childhood and Development Center.</li><li>Provide supervision over toileting/bathroom time, and mealtime/snack time activities.</li><li>Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned</li></ul> JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE Education: <ul><li>High school diploma or GED equivalent required. </li><li>Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field, preferred. </li></ul> Experience: 1-2 years experience in a preschool or childcare setting preferred.
