NE Renewable Power is made up of 7 Biomass electric generating power stations located in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.  These stations play a crucial role in supplying locally sourced renewable energy to the people of New England. Sprague brings over 150 years of energy operating experience to the operations of these facilities, and we’re hiring a Woodyard Operator for the Whitefield, NH location.

Job Summary

As a woodyard operator you will be scaling in/out and dumping trucks, along with performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks in the woodyard and boiler house. You will also need to perform regular maintenance such as; oil changes, checking fluids, and the greasing of heavy equipment and plant systems equipment. You will need to learn how to stack inventory into a chip pile and load the reclaimer pit. We provide you with a training packet that you are required to complete before going on shift alone. We also encourage employees to continue to train to the next position and obtain a boiler operator’s permit and ultimately a Maine State Boiler License.

If you are a skilled heavy equipment operator, including front end loaders, tractors, dump truck, hydraulic dumpers, and other log handling equipment, then this is the job for you! Being able to quickly learn to operate our scale system, as well as performing basic maintenance tasks on equipment and maintaining various maintenance reports and records are keys to success in this role.

You need to be able to use basic computer operation skills for completion of needed reports and be comfortable using Outlook email. Other duties include, but are not limited to, performing clean-up and housekeeping activities inside and outside, and working in adverse conditions including heat, cold and dust. The candidate must be able to work flexible schedules including overtime, weekends and holidays, arrive at work on time, and willing and able occasionally to travel to other work sites.

Physical requirements will be reviewed with candidate prior to hiring to ensure candidate can perform all needed tasks. In the Pre-employment fitness test, you will be asked to stoop, lift 50lbs, and raise you hands above your head. A physical, drug screen, annual respirator fit test, and audiogram will also be performed Prior to employment.

The successful candidate will assume a pro-active role in the Facility Safety Programs and will assume a leadership attitude to ensure compliance with all policies. The candidate will wear and be certified in the use of all Personal Protective Equipment use and care, will report all injuries and incidents immediately, and ensure teammates and visitors to the facility are in full compliance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum High School graduate or equivalent, or at least (1) year experience operating knuckleboom loaders and other woodyard equipment.
