Job Description

The Role 

Since its inception in 1992, SUSE has been at the forefront of technical innovation where change has been the only constant. 

The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver expert technical consultancy services to our clients, ensuring the successful deployment, integration, and optimization of SUSE enterprise container management solutions. 

This will support business growth in line with our ambitious objectives and company culture. 

As an AI Technical Consultant at SUSE, you will play a critical role in helping our clients successfully deploy AI solutions on SUSE platforms. You will work closely with clients to understand their business needs, design AI deployment strategies, and ensure seamless integration of AI technologies into their existing systems. This role requires a deep understanding of AI/ML models, deployment processes, and SUSE’s product offerings, with an emphasis on scalable, secure, and efficient implementations.

The role sits within the Professional Services function.
 

Focus Areas  

  • Thought leadership: Lead customer workshops to explore AI use cases that will deliver business benefits, and leverage SUSEs AI platform. This will include discovery workshops, roadmap and design sessions that help customers understand the steps to their agreed future state. 
  • Solution Design: Collaborate with clients to design tailored solutions that meet their specific needs and objectives, leveraging best practices in AI technologies.
  • Deployment & Integration: Lead the deployment and integration of AI solutions, ensuring seamless implementation and minimal disruption to client operations.
  • Customer knowledge transformation: Develop and deliver training sessions to educate clients on best practices for using AI solutions.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for deployed solutions, including design documents such as architecture diagrams, and deploy documents such as configuration guides.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other SUSE teams, including sales, product development, and support, to ensure a cohesive approach to client service and solution delivery.

Preferred Experience & Skills 

  • IT industry experience with good understanding of customer IT infrastructure architecture and common technologies.
  • Knowledge of Open Source Software including:
    • OpenWebUI
    • LangChain
    • Milvus
    • Ollama
    • Rancher
    • RKE2
    • SUSE Linux (SLEmicro)
    • Longhorn
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems.
  • Strong Python programming skills
  • Experience with fine tuning and training of LLMs
  • Experience with deploying and scaling LLMs
  • Experience with tokenization and embedding models required for different data types
  • Experience with using and scaling vector databases
  • Experience with datacenter GPUs and tuning practices
  • Experience with RAG approaches to ensure quality LLM responses
  • Experience with cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Solid understanding of Cloud Native technologies and ecosystems. 
  • Good writing skill is required for plan, design, deployment documentation writing.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster long-term relationships with internal teams, external partners and customers.
  • Candidates who have good knowledge and experience of network design are preferred.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% required
