Manufacturing Technician

OTTO’s opportunity:

Our Manufacturing Technician will support Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Production, with the release of new products. Assist manufacturing with troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions. Help create improvements on new and existing products.

Specifically, the Manufacturing Technician will:

  • Organize and instruct soldering training classes: Soldering Training, Soldering Training Recertification, Soldering Inspection Training, Soldering Inspection Recertification Training
  • Build prototypes as required
  • Generate information to develop control plans/routings and procedures for new and existing products
  • Assist Supervisors/Group Leaders and assemblers with assembly techniques
  • Investigate, diagnose and correct problems with sustainable solutions
  • Assist Supervisors/Group Leaders and assemblers with OTTO’s manufacturing systems
  • Suggest and implement ideas to improve line flow and setup
  • Assist in the proper training, and cross training of operators
  • Maintain and promote a neat and safe work environment
  • Motivate workers to meet quality standards, production process standards, and ISO 9001 procedures
  • Assist with other related duties as required or assigned

What you’ll need to bring to the table:

  • Obtain/maintain teaching soldering Certifications (IPC J-STD-0001 CIT) (IPC J-STD-001 Space Addendum) (IPC WHMA-A-620 CIT)
  • Able to pass annual vision screening test - prerequisite per NASA-STC-8739.6
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Basic Computer Skills – working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of inspection tools and their use
  • Ability to improve systems and processes
  • Ability to teach and train production workers
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 9000 and S.P.C.
  • Ability to support multiple projects at the same time
