We are seeking a full-time Lead Assistant Deli Seafood Manager who thrives on managing operations with precision while delivering exceptional customer service. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing in-store specials, merchandising strategies, and display programs to drive sales and enhance profitability
  • Collaborating with vendors and sales representatives to optimize our product offerings and introduce new items
  • Maintaining an efficient inventory of products, with a keen focus on quality and pricing, to ensure our shelves are consistently stocked
  • Curate visually appealing and well-stocked display cases, meeting the high expectations of both Dierbergs and our customers.

Qualifications for Success:
  • 2 + years of food-service experience (deli, restaurant or quick serve), preferably in a supervisory role
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service while also managing people to bring out their strengths
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use iPad for customer orders, order pick up, and training
  • A multi-tasker who enjoys an extremely fast pace and is willing to learn and excel at a wide variety of tasks
  • Strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures
  • The flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights and weekends - most Deli/Seafood departments close by 8pm!

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 65 lbs. occasionally and up to 20 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to push and pull up to 90 lbs. of force occasionally
  • Ability to stock an average of 60 cases per hour and work in varied temperature-controlled environments
  • Ability to keep the work area safe and clean using company-approved equipment
  • Strong attention to detail, business acumen, follow-through and dependability
  • Ability to organize work, strategically plan short- and long-term goals and focus on results
  • Occasional: Sitting and climbing; frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, squatting, and handling
  • Frequent: Head turn, trunk bend, side reach, grasp, power grip, pinch, finger manipulation, & feel
  • Constant - Stand, handling, & forward reach
