Essential Duties and Responsibilities/Functions
- Supervise students on assigned kitchen and diner serving duties.
- Maintain a clean kitchen area and storage area.
- Be able to supervise up to 13 students on cleaning of the kitchen, dining area and other potential jobs.
- Demonstrated and oversee students in how to properly clean kitchen, dining room, serving line and storeroom areas.
- Responsible for putting away all afternoon deliveries, rotating stock, organizing storeroom and walk in coolers/freezers.
- Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications (Skills and Abilities Required)
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year commercial/institutional kitchen experience.
- Some experience in commercial food safety practice.
- Be able to be sociable and work well with our students.
- Fundamental understanding of food safety practices.

- Ability to work in teams or work independently and direct oneself daily.
Working Conditions
- This position will be working in the kitchen and dining area as well as storerooms, freezers and walk-in cooling units.
- Work schedule is typically Monday-Friday from 1:00 pm until 7:30 pm
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift boxes of food and handle the physical demands of the job including standing and bending, operating cleaning equipment.
Supervisory Responsibility
- Direct supervisory responsibilities are supervising 6 student washing pots, pans and dishes, cleaning and restocking until dinner. Train and supervise 7 student servers to serve dinner, clean up dining room and serving line before closing.
