About our intern program:

The Baird Project Services team delivers business analysis, project management and quality assurance expertise to identify and implement technology solutions that meet the business needs and challenges. The Intern will assist in delivering value-add solutions working on small project requests and/or as part of a large project team, while learning and applying agile principles and other project delivery methodologies.

IT has a track record of success with interns across their various teams, all who have the ability to directly contribute to the success of the department. Interns apply knowledge gained in the classroom to develop relevant professional experience while developing meaningful relationships. Interns are treated as valuable team members and are challenged with meaningful work while learning from experienced professionals in a collaborative, fun, and dynamic environment. Internship Location, Availability and Hours:
We have year round and summer internships in our downtown Milwaukee office. Year round requires working part-time during the Spring and Fall semesters (15-20 hours/week) and full-time during the Summer (37.5-40 hours/week). We are seeking a student who is able to start in April or May 2018.

As an IT Project Services Intern, you will:
  • Elicit requirements in conjunction with a mentor by the use of interviews, workflow analysis, requirements workshops, and surveys to provide business requirements, use cases, and user stories.
  • Participate in collaboration sessions with project team members (developers, architects, product owners) to assist in the creation and delivery of the technical vision.
  • Partner with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to define and execute testing strategies.
  • Experience Baird's culture by shadowing current team members. Receive mentorship from an experienced team member and partner with a manager on professional development.
  • Collaborate with fellow interns to identify and propose a value-driven, firm-wide initiative to Baird Leadership.
What we look for:
  • Pursuing a Business or Communications degree with a concentration in technology. Targeting December 2018 - May 2020 grads.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required and MS Visio is a plus.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with ability to build strong relationships.
  • Possess a natural curiosity in understanding the application of technology to solve business problems.
  • Positive attitude, proactive in seeking additional work, and strong initiative.
  • Detail oriented and exhibits organizational, time management, and problem solving skills.
  • A 3.3 GPA or better is preferred.
