Job Summary
The Health Education Coordinator position, under the direct supervision of departmental educational faculty, and in consultation and regular collaboration with all applicable educational deans or their designee, is responsible for supervision and managing the daily administrative activities of the Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) program, specifically the Surgery Education office, in collaboration with the COM and following LCME guidelines and standards.
In addition, the Health Education Coordinator position is responsible for the direct supervision of the administrative and professional responsibilities for all educational activities related to the surgery clerkships (specifically the third year clerkship program), working with program staff, the program’s medical student and house staff on a daily basis, and serves as the primary liaison between the Clerkship Director, chief residents, house staff, medical students, and program faculty concerning program educational matters.
This position will also work with the satellite COM campuses in Bowling Green and Northern Kentucky, and rotations in Morehead.
