Become a Financial Analyst at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be responsible for supporting utility regulatory proceedings with the determination of revenue requirement to ensure Southern California Edison (SCE) recovers from its customers through rates the cost of providing safe and reliable electricity service.

The Financial Analyst will be developing, maintaining, and updating the revenue requirement forecasting model to support various regulatory proceedings and compliance filings, including the General Rate Case, with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The Financial Analyst ensures data accuracy through reconciliations, provides management guidance on revenue requirement efforts, and supports expert witnesses with the development and filing of CPUC Cost Recovery Applications, Testimony, data requests, and Evidentiary Hearings.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and revises financial analysis and presentations in support of management decision-making and communications
  • Conducts short and long-term financial modeling, maintains and developing models that can improve the ability to analyze strategic and financial data
  • Provides support in the analysis of potential investments, mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures across the organization
  • Provides timely, balanced forward looking financial assessments that capture current performance and help enable value optimized operational and financial decisions
  • Proactively identifies and manages financial risk through regular assessment and diligent execution of controls and mitigations, proactively raising any concerns
  • Supports monthly rolling forecasts and annual budgets, including analysis of variances for project, organizational unit, or corporate-wide financial forecasts
  • Assists in developing forecasting tools to help automate financial data analysis
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in financial planning, modeling and/or forecasting.

The Preferred 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or Technical Field.
  • Experience with financial modeling and reporting using Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in the energy utility or regulated industry.
  • Experience with preparing presentations and presenting to management.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
