Title: Enterprise System Administrator and Data Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY
Administering a high availability distributed system environment. The administrator will work very closely with the Technology Services Division staff to meet business and technical demands. Helps with solutions to problems that may arise in an expeditious, efficient, and timely manner. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Nashville State Community College.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Installs, configures and manages physical and virtual servers in support of applications utilized by the College. Monitor the performance, security and availability of physical and virtual servers and Citrix Application Delivery Controllers. Establish and maintain firewalls on physical and virtual servers. Perform version and package upgrades on physical and virtual servers and Citrix Application Delivery Controllers. Provide systems technical support to the Technical Systems Division staff.
Document configurations and procedures utilized to maintain supported platforms. Works with the Administrative Information Systems staff in support of Ellucian Banner and related applications. Develops SQL and PL/SQL scripts to perform extracts and updates to data in the Banner database. Develops and maintains custom jobs to automate processing of data and user accounts in Banner and Active Directory. Assists with application administration and user account management for Banner and related systems. Performs other duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree and 8 years of work experience in systems administration and/or application development.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and three-year experience in systems administration and/or application development.
Experience in Linux, Unix, and Windows servers administration.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
An appreciation of the responsibilities of this position in support of the business-critical applications of the College. Strong working knowledge installing and maintaining Computer Operating System environments and related software. Knowledge of data processing, hardware and software architecture, and network concepts. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills and be able to participate in multiple projects simultaneously. An appreciation of the collegiate environment and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, and vendors. Should be team focused and flexible.

Rate of Pay: $57,836.00 - 72,295.00 depending on experience.
