Pay Range

$37,800.00-$51,900.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.   Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

Johns Manville, a leading manufacturer and marketer of premium-quality insulation, commercial roofing, and engineered products is searching for a CNC Machinist to join the team in Tucson, AZ.

Shift: 2nd shift position; M-TH 2pm-1am

Job Requirements:

  • Understand and use safe working practices.
  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Broad experience setting up, editing G-Code programs, and running CNC Lathes and VMCs.
  • Experience using pedestal grinders, drill presses and various machine tools and equipment.
    Read and understand complex mechanical blueprints.
  • Strong shop-math skills.
  • Familiar reading micrometers, calipers, and other standard measuring equipment.
  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
  • Own basic measuring tools and machinist hand tools providing capability to perform job duties.
  • Ability to work different shifts
  • Positive manner of performance, team player, good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Attend safety meetings and participate in scheduled safety talks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or a technical certificate
  • Knowledge of SAP

Safety:

  • Lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be capable of performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must have to ability to operate various hand tools including pneumatic, electrical, and manual 
  • Ability to safely climb stairs and ladders throughout the workday.
  • Ability to complete tasks associated with various hot works.  Including the ability to wear necessary PPE to protect worker from such hot work hazards.
  • Ability to wear steel-toe safety shoes for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment and wear hearing protection as required.
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment and wear respiratory protection as required.
  • Capable of using forklifts, cranes

You will work under the general supervision of the shift supervisor, performing all machining to maximize productivity to maintain safety and quality standards. The Tucson, AZ plant is a full-service manufacturing, and machining operation with high skilled machinists and operators who specialize in high temperature alloys and proprietary parts for Johns Manville.
