ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL GEOSCIENCES

The Department of Earth and Environmental Geosciences at Trinity University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor. We seek to expand current expertise in the department, with environmental research in terrestrial, critical zone, hydrological or marine settings, or in broader earth systems interactions. Use of geophysics, remote sensing, GIS, coding or other quantitative methods in research and teaching will be considered an asset. 

      The successful candidate must have a commitment to undergraduate teaching and will be expected to develop an active research program that involves undergraduates. Both the University and Department leverage their strong financial base to provide support for faculty and student research, especially for early career faculty. 

      The assistant professor position at Trinity consists of a 3-2 teaching load (1 teaching credit corresponds to a 3-contact-hour/week lecture or lab section) with a pre-tenure sabbatical. We seek candidates who will teach across the curriculum, including introductory and core geosciences courses as well as upper-level courses related to environmental geosciences. A Ph.D. in Geosciences is required before August 2025, but we encourage those who are ABD to apply. Experience teaching at the college level is preferred.
