Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environment Engineering in the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology with a preferred start date of August 2025. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.  

Responsibilities

• Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the area of Structural Engineering, or other general courses in Civil Engineering
• Service to the Department/College/University/professional community
• Scholarship/Research expectations that include pursuing and receiving external grants, creating journal articles and peer-reviewed papers, advising undergraduate and/or graduate student research, etc
   

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, is required.  The required degree must be earned by the start date.

Preferred Qualifications Include

• Professional Engineering license or ability to get the license in a few years
• Prior teaching experience in higher education
• Evidence of scholarship/creative activities in the broad area of Structural Engineering
